I had the luxury of working on a few websites that were being completely re-designed – visually and structurally – that required the important step of using 301 redirects to direct search engines from old non-existent pages to correct new pages. It’s a topic that both Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster have written about and HubSpot even cut straight to the question and asked “why should you care”? In the end it’s an important marketing step for any new site being re-created, but it’s probably not a subject that will ever be brought up on a Fantasy Sports message board.
