Apple made a retail store work, Microsoft even followed suit and opened a few of their own, so who’s next? Google it appears. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Google has been developing plans to launch retail stores in the U.S. The idea makes sense since Google has an arsenal of products to promote in a retail store: Nexus phones, Google TV, Chromebooks, and even Google Glass in the future. Instead of browsing an aisle in Best Buy deciding between a Chromebook, iPad, or Surface – consumers will now be browsing a mall between the 3 separate stores. If that mall contained one of Google’s famed cafeteria’s then that would be worth fighting for a parking spot at the mall.
