Halloween is right around the corner and it appears all 3 search engines are wearing new costumes this year. Yahoo! made the biggest intro into the costume party, they teased us for 30 days with 30 variations of the Yahoo! moniker before settling on one that sparked mixed opinions. Not to be outdone, Bing is planning a new logo as well – although it seems like they have switched up logos, names, and search engine layout every other Halloween. Last and certainly never least when it comes to search engine market share, Google has decided to tweak their logo as well – though truthfully it’s more like Google tossed their costume in the street and a car ran over it. Google’s new logo doesn’t change colors, fonts, or orientation; but rather takes out the shadows which gave the logo a three-dimensional feel. The search engines are certainly handing out job security to graphic designers this Halloween. Trick or Treat?
